Home ReSource updates.

As a trusted and valued member of our community, we wanted to reach out to let you know about some of the changes happening at Home ReSource as we continue to grow to meet community needs and increase the breadth and scope of our impact. This growth period is an exciting, busy, and occasionally turbulent time, including some staff turn-over. We have lost a few familiar faces recently who have outgrown their positions in the store or who are finding that our new course isn’t their bag of nails, and we had to eliminate one newer store position due to lack of funding.

At the same time, odd though it feels, we are hiring a couple new positions – a Programs Director, thanks to a generous grant from the Murdock Charitable Trust, and an Americorps VISTA, thanks to the federal Americorps program and Campus Compact – to support our growing programs, including the store, in new, exciting, and essential ways. We are looking forward to bringing new faces, perspectives, and enthusiasm into the mix and we can’t wait for you to meet them.

We value our relationship with you and we wanted to keep you updated on what is happening so that if you have any questions, you know can reach out, and, if people ask you questions, you can speak with confidence about our direction and changes. For example, I have had several folks ask if I was leaving when they saw the Programs Director position opening – the answer is no, I’m not leaving!  I’m incredibly excited about the direction Home ReSource is heading, the enthusiasm it is generating in the community, and ways you are helping us make a difference.

We are so grateful for your support, input, donations, sweat, participation in SponCon, attendance at the auction, time and perhaps most of all, your confidence in the value of our mission to build a brighter today and better future for all Missoulians. We couldn’t do it without you.

With gratitude,
Katie Deuel, Executive Director
